Transferring is easy and free. Just bring in your current prescription bottles or the name and phone number of your previous pharmacy. Our team will contact them directly and handle all the details. In most cases, your prescriptions will be ready the same day. You can also call us at 270-365-5585 and we'll walk you through it over the phone.
You can request a refill in several ways: through our mobile app, by calling us at 270-365-5585, or by stopping in during store hours. For ongoing maintenance medications, ask us about setting up automatic refill reminders so you're always stocked up before you run out.
Most new prescriptions are filled within 15–30 minutes, depending on our current volume. If we anticipate any delay — for example, if we need to order a specific medication — we'll let you know right away so you can plan accordingly. We always aim to have your prescription ready as quickly as possible without compromising accuracy.
We work with most major insurance plans, including commercial insurance, Medicare Part D, and Medicaid. If you're unsure whether your plan is accepted, give us a call at 270-365-5585 before you come in and we'll verify for you. We're also glad to help you understand your copay and any coverage questions you may have.
Absolutely. We understand that prescription costs can be a real concern. Our team can check for manufacturer discount programs, patient assistance programs, and generic alternatives that may significantly reduce your out-of-pocket cost. Don't hesitate to ask — we'd rather find you a solution than have you go without important medication.
Yes. We administer a range of vaccines including flu shots, pneumonia vaccines, shingles vaccines, and more. Most vaccinations do not require an appointment — you can stop in during regular store hours. We recommend calling ahead at 270-365-5585 to confirm current availability and to check whether your insurance covers the vaccination at a pharmacy.
Call us, come in, or send us an email. Our pharmacists are always available to answer questions about dosing, side effects, interactions, or anything else on your mind. No question is too small — understanding your medication is important for your safety and peace of mind.

Coverage & Payment Options

We work hard to make your prescriptions as affordable as possible. Here's what you need to know.

Major Insurance Plans

Princeton Drug Store accepts most major commercial insurance plans. Bring your insurance card on your first visit and we'll verify your coverage. We're glad to answer any questions about your copay or benefits.

Medicare Part D

We are enrolled with Medicare Part D and can process your prescriptions through most Part D plans. If you're not sure which plan is best for you, we can help you think through your options.

Medicaid

We accept most Kentucky Medicaid managed care plans. Please bring your Medicaid card to each visit so we can process your prescriptions accurately and quickly.

No Insurance? We Can Help.

If you don't have prescription coverage, ask us about discount programs, manufacturer coupons, and generic alternatives. We will always try to find the most affordable option for your situation.

Accepted Payment Methods

We accept cash, personal checks, and most major credit and debit cards including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. HSA and FSA cards are also accepted for eligible purchases.

Cost Transparency

We believe you should always know what you're paying before you pay it. If a prescription is more than you expected, ask us — we'll look for alternatives and explain your options clearly.

Tips for Managing Your Medications

Small habits can make a big difference in how well your medications work for you.

Keep a Medication List

Maintain an up-to-date list of all your prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and supplements. Bring it to every doctor's appointment and share it with your pharmacist. This helps us catch potential interactions before they become a problem.

Refill Before You Run Out

Request your refill a few days before your last dose — don't wait until the bottle is empty. This allows time for processing and avoids gaps in your medication schedule. Our app can send you automatic reminders to help you stay on track.

Ask Questions — Always

If you don't understand what a medication is for, how to take it, or what side effects to watch for, ask your pharmacist before you leave. That's exactly what we're here for. Never take a medication you don't fully understand.

Store Medications Properly

Most medications should be stored at room temperature, away from heat, light, and humidity. The bathroom medicine cabinet — despite its name — is often not the best place. When in doubt, ask us about proper storage for your specific medications.

Don't Skip Doses or Stop Early

For many medications, especially antibiotics, completing the full course is important even if you feel better. Stopping too soon can allow the condition to return or become harder to treat. If you're experiencing side effects, call us before stopping — we may be able to help.

Dispose of Old Medications Safely

Don't flush unused medications or throw them in the trash. Many communities have medication drop-off programs for safe disposal. Ask us about local disposal options — we're happy to point you in the right direction.

We're Always Here to Help
